Chemistry Laboratory Services

The chemistry laboratory facilities are both unique and extensive. Instrumentation ranges from specific equipment to perform ASTM tests on activated carbon to generalized instrumentation for qualitative and quantitative analysis of gas, liquid and solid samples. Linkage with other laboratories broadens the capability to perform a variety of tests.

  • All ASTM tests in the D28 series are performed on equipment that has been used in round robin laboratory testing associated with ASTM committee work.
  • Extensive pilot testing facilities for evaluation of solvent recovery adsorbents and processes.
  • Radioisotope tracer techniques for adsorbent evaluation.
  • Liquid and gas adsorption isotherm tests.
  • Spent adsorbent evaluation for determination of residual life.
  • Simulation of process stream conditions to optimize contaminant removal.
